A fast and open replacement for Windows and macOS.

ZealOS was born out of a desire to make Linux easier for new users, while still being useful for experts. Based on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, ZOS was re-born as an Ubuntu Remix with tweaks and extras to make the system “just work” out of the box.

ZOS is a free Replacement for Windows and macOS with the best that the Linux Community can offer in customisation, applications, and design in one package.

ZealOS is an Ubuntu Remix, meaning it ships packages from the default Ubuntu repositories but also a number of other packages (often ones that Ubuntu cannot ship directly).

For new users, Linux Systems can be tricky because it doesn't include many of the extras that users often need, things like media codecs and some proprietary software..

This is one area where ZOS can help. Ultimately, we want people just like you to become useful members of the Linux community and we hope that trying ZealOS will be a catalyst for this.
